A reference photo is useful for choosing an appearance, but it cannot tell you the complete construction of a door. Before comparing cast aluminum and copper entrance designs, define the opening, the setting and the result you want from the entrance.

Start with the entrance, not the material name

Record the opening width and height, whether a single or double leaf is preferred, the wall and threshold conditions, and the exposure to sun and rain. Tell the supplier whether the door is for a private villa, a residential development or another project. A drawing or site photograph helps explain proportions that a catalogue image cannot show.

Where the design directions differ

Cast aluminum entrance references often emphasise sculpted relief, texture and a strong solid-panel appearance. Copper entrance references offer a warm metallic surface and decorative detail. Either direction can be adapted through size, finish, frame and hardware choices. The photograph alone does not establish the base material, facing thickness, internal structure or finished price.

Compare the complete offered assembly

  • Leaf and frame: request the proposed materials, construction and dimensions for both.
  • Hardware: review hinge capacity, lock, handle, handing and any access-control request together with door weight.
  • Exposure and finish: agree the coating or protective finish for the intended setting and ask how it should be maintained.
  • Glazing: if daylight is important, compare the separate cast-aluminum glass entrance range and specify privacy, glass and grille requirements.
  • Order scope: check whether the frame, threshold, hardware, packing and delivery are included in each quotation.

Approve a sample before production

Screen colours and catalogue lighting can differ from a physical finish. Use a reference code to identify the design, then approve the final drawing and a representative finish sample for the selected construction. For a project order, record any differences between openings in a door schedule.
