Open the detailed procurement checklist
| Item | What to record or confirm |
|---|---|
| Packing method | Ask which protection is proposed for the selected finish, glazing and door components, and which packing costs are included. Any additional requirement needs agreement. |
| Package labels | Agree the opening or order reference, package number and contents list. For multi-room projects, decide how site teams will match packages to the door schedule. |
| Loose parts | Identify hardware, keys, fixings or accessories packed separately and how they are listed and located. Confirm the parts included in the order. |
| Evidence before dispatch | Agree which photographs, quantities, visible finish checks and documentation should be reviewed, when they will be provided and who approves release. |
| Shipment information | Request the packing list and available package dimensions or weight information needed for the transport plan. Estimates should be distinguished from final packed figures. |
| Receiving arrangements | Confirm the delivery location, access restrictions, unloading equipment, site contact and storage arrangements with the relevant parties. |
| Arrival concerns | Agree how to record and report a shortage or visible damage, whom to contact and the applicable order or carrier procedure. Retain labels and relevant photographs while the concern is reviewed. |
Make a pre-dispatch review useful.
Discuss an order-specific review list: door references and quantities, agreed visible finish details, hardware counts, package labels and the documents needed for the handover. Photographs support this review; they do not establish a fire rating, test result or performance claim.
Separate transport from installation.
Identify the quoted delivery point and who arranges onward movement, unloading, storage and installation. Ask about site access and handling before the shipment plan is finalised. Installation details and component suitability should follow the confirmed door specification and the responsible installer’s review.
For repeat and multi-category orders
Keep the same project references across the approved schedule, packing list and handover records. If products are ready at different times, discuss whether they will ship together or separately and record the agreed arrangement.
